Welcome to your notes
A quick tour to get you started. Edit or delete this note any time.
Writing
Notes are plain Markdown. Hit the New button in the header to start a fresh note. The first # Heading in the body becomes the post's title.
Organizing
Drop a note into any folder by typing its name in the Folder field — folders are created on demand. The home page gives you four lenses on your library:
- Notes — flat reverse-chronological list of everything at the root
- Folders — your folder tree, plus the special folders below
- Recents — everything you've touched, newest first
- Tags — grouped by
#tag
Special folders
These appear as cards above your regular folders on the Folders tab:
- Pinned — a curatorial flag. Click the pin icon on any post to flag it for follow-up.
- Background — a hidden folder. Notes you move here stay searchable but don't appear on the main feed.
- To do — action items you want to keep visible.
- Shared — posts, folders, and tags with a sharable URL. Shared folders and tags get their own public landing pages showing only the posts you've shared, and they are listed as chips on your profile.
- Published — public posts. They appear on your
/u/<handle>page for the world to read. - Deleted — trash. Restore or empty from here.
Pinned / Shared / Published are status flags, not physical folders — a post lives in its real folder and can be in any combination of these views.
Sharing controls
You can share at multiple levels:
- Folders and Tags — Share a whole folder or tag. They will show up on your public profile under "Shared Collections" with their own landing pages.
- Iterations — Choose to share either "all versions" (the entire iteration group) or "only this version" (a single iteration) of a post.
Per-post actions
Each post has a toolbar:
- Copy link — copy the post URL.
- Download — grab the raw
.mdfile. - Play — text-to-speech (set up your own voice in Settings → AI).
- Pin / Share / Publish — flip the status flags above.
- Tag — add or remove
#tags. - Delete — move to Deleted.
Your public page
When you publish a post, it shows up at /u/<your-handle> — a clean, signed-out-friendly reading page. Pick or change your handle in Settings → Profile.
Iterations
When you want to refine a thought without losing the original, use Add iteration on the post. Each version is preserved; the latest iteration represents the post in lists. Earlier versions are still reachable from the iteration history.
Sign-in options
You can sign in with Google, with a magic link, or with an email and password. Set or reset your password from the login page.
