Welcome to your notes
A quick tour to get you started. Edit or delete this note any time — it's private, like every note until you choose to share it.
Writing
Notes are plain Markdown. Tap the + button to start a fresh note; the first # Heading becomes its title. The arrow next to + has more ways to start — a new folder, or a voice note or scan in the iPhone app.
Organizing
Put a note in a folder by typing the folder's name in the Folder field — folders are created as you go. The home screen gives you several views of your library:
- Notes — everything, newest first
- Folders — your folder tree
- Lists — Pinned, To do, Shared, Published, Deleted, and more
- Recents — what you've touched lately
- Tags — grouped by
#tag
Pinned, Shared and Published are flags, not folders: a note stays in its own folder and can carry any combination of them.
Sharing and publishing
Nothing leaves your notebook unless you say so:
- Share gives a note a private link. Only people with the link can read it.
- Publish also lists the note on your public page,
/u/<your-handle>.
You can share one version of a note or all of its versions, and share a whole folder or tag. Change your handle in Settings → Account → Profile.
Versions
To rework a note without losing the original, use Add to this post (next to the + button while you're reading it). Every version is kept as a tab on the note.
Listening
Tap the ▶ button under a note's title to have it read aloud. In the iPhone app it keeps playing when you lock the screen, and you can pause or skip from the Lock Screen.
Settings
- Settings → Notes — import a Notion or Obsidian export, export everything, and turn optional features on or off.
- Settings → AI — optional: add your own AI provider key for features like semantic search. Nothing is sent to an AI provider unless you add a key and turn a feature on.
- Settings → Account — your profile, blocked users, and deleting your account.

Happy writing.
